Moderate, regular consumption—about 40 grams of cheese per day, roughly matching the European average of around 49 grams daily—is associated with a notable reduction in cardiovascular risk. Even larger studies go further. By pooling dozens of results totaling nearly 1.8 million people, researchers observe that the heaviest cheese consumers experience an overall reduction of 8% in cardiovascular disease risk, with about a 3% decrease for every additional 30-gram portion per day. The link also extends to all-cause mortality, since each extra 30-gram daily portion would be associated with a roughly 2% decrease in risk of death from any cause. Taken together, these figures paint a reality that contrasts sharply with the usual guilt-laden discourse.
